Our sessions will help you to understand the underlying reasons behind your behaviour and feelings. This can involve looking at the emotions and experiences you’ve encountered from childhood to the present day in order to understand how they’ve shaped the person you are today.

Therapy is an open process that can progress as long as it takes for your self-development. It takes time, availability, motivation and an open mind to get to the centre of your problems, so it is important that you decide to commit to your self-awareness process and our sessions. I understand this may be scary at first, but it is worth taking this step.

Counselling

There can sometimes be some confusion about the differences between psychotherapy and counselling. The easiest and least confusing way of looking at it is that counselling works more on the present situation and psychotherapy looks at your past to help understand the present.

During counselling sessions, we’ll focus more on what’s happening to you at the present. We’ll look at the immediate symptoms, from there I can teach you manageable techniques to break the cycle of negative thoughts and habits that are all too easy to get caught up. I also make it clear that during our sessions I can merge the two techniques.

Reiki

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that promotes healing. Translated, Reiki means ‘spiritually guided life force energy and it’s based on the idea that an unseen energy flows through us. When low, we are more prone to stress and sickness. Conversely, when it’s high we are more capable of happiness and health.

In our sessions I act as a channel for this energy, transferring it to you by placing my hands above your main energy points (also known as chakras). This helps relieve stress and illness that come with low energy levels. Clients often go into a meditative state during this process, allowing you to connect with yourself on a deep level. Reiki is not a substitute for traditional medicine or its treatments.
