07 Tips to improve your Communication
How many times did you make that "uh" face after saying something without thinking? It‘s nice to be spontaneous, playful and direct, very original, but some variables must be considered: the situation or the person you are talking to, the place and time, your body posture and, most importantly, the tone of your voice.
These factors should always be considered. I believe that everything can be said, and the magic is in HOW it is said.
Keeping a calm voice helps a lot when expressing something you like or simply your point of view. It is also useful to reflect on whether it is worth disagreeing, as sometimes, the person just wants to be listened.
If it is a sensitive subject, that you want to discuss, choose a private place, if possible, set a day and time. These little details encourage conversation.
I bring you here some suggestions and a question:
-Reflect on what you want to talk about and how you will express your ideas
-Be objective and direct
-Connect and pay attention to what others have to say
-Check what the other person understood what you said. And, also, if you understood what was said
-Observe your non-verbal language and gestures
-Be careful with bad language and abbreviations, that can be misunderstood
-Use emotions like, enthusiasm and joy, to your advantage. Emotions connect
And, think: Do you want to be happy or to be right ?!
Have a good week, Lucia
